As a subject matter expert on our research and economics team, you will not only uncover and share market trends with the Breakthrough team and our clients but also craft novel, in-depth research and analysis using robust data - including data generated by our Breakthrough Ecosystem - that will shape the freight transportation industry's future. Imagine creating and delivering executive summaries that capture the essence of the market and meeting the diverse data and insight needs of some of the greatest brands on earth. This position will work out of our Green Bay location on a hybrid schedule. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Subject Matter Expertise:

  • Maintain expertise in the dynamics and current activity of North American freight transportation markets.
  • Significant experience analyzing and interpreting publicly available freight market metrics and macroeconomic data.
  • The ideal candidate will be passionate about continuous learning and growing their subject matter expertise of North American and international freight markets.

Research:

  • Contribute research and analysis toward freight, fuel, and sustainability market publications, webcasts, and other media, including delivery in a professional studio setting.
  • Deliver research to support product development and enhance existing Breakthrough data products and services.

Analysis:

  • Take the lead in managing client needs for data and insights arising from functions across the Breakthrough business.
  • Play a critical role in supplying the data and research necessary for the cross-functional development of forecast models.

Delivery:

  • Create executive-level market posts, summaries, and presentations to transportation supply chain professionals.

Collaboration:

QUALIFICATIONS
  • A desire to grow in a career focused upon optimizing cost, service, and sustainability across transportation supply chains.
  • A thorough understanding of freight market economics, transportation supply chain execution, and being capable of summarizing and visualizing industry data.
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher education in a relevant field such as: Economics, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Analytics, a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 10+ years of professional experience as an analyst, with a focus on industry analysis and sharing insights with project leaders or stakeholders.
  • A proven track record of analyzing and presenting market insights to transportation supply chain leaders.
  • Data analysis, analytics, and visualization mastery.
  • Effective presentation and communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical, industry concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Cross-functional project management experience
  • A desire to grow in a career focused upon optimizing cost, service, and sustainability across transportation supply chains.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Experience producing insights from programming languages and data analytics tools.
