2025 Summer Intern - Public Affairs & Access: Employee & Community Engagement (Corporate Communications)

This internship position is located in South San Francisco, on-site

The Opportunity

Employee & Community Engagement is looking for an intern to help with the following programs:

  • Employee Engagement and Volunteerism

    • Futurelab (Gene Academy, Science Garage, Job Shadow Day) volunteer program marketing materials, program team onboarding documents, scholarship event communications and execution

    • Support Genentech Gives Back Week engagement program and events

    • Provide communications support Genentech Goes to Town (Promos, maps, writing features about businesses)

    • Support special employee engagement projects as needed

  • Digital Engagement and Storytelling

    • Assistance with storyboarding, filming and editing "A Day in the Life" videos for DNA News - our internal storytelling news platform

    • Assistance with internal employee and business stories

    • Build awareness and usage of our Genentech Community Google Chat Channel

  • Team Operations

    • Google Shared Drive organization

    • Support special team projects as needed

Program Highlights

  • Intensive 12-weeks, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.

  • Program start date begins by the end of May (non-negotiable).

  • A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.

  • Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.

  • Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.

Who You Are (Required)

Required Education

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student).

Required Majors: Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Event/Hospitality Management

Required Skills: Communications, writing, basic graphic design, project management .

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $23-$33 hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
