The Blueprint (Role Profile)

We are currently looking for a Machine Operator II to join our flagship facility in Lexington, SC to assist with the set-up and operation of Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) equipment, as well as other conventional machining equipment to produce various components and finished goods. The incumbent will be responsible for manufacturing parts and components to match quality standards and drawings.

The incumbent will report to a Production Supervisor responsible for the H.K. Porter department. He or she will work closely with Machinists and other operators in their daily work, ensuring on-time delivery of parts and products to internal and external customers.

The Build (Responsibilities)

* Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and written instructions to understand task at hand

* Use standard tool packages, tooling, and fixtures to set-up equipment for specified product

* Operate CNC equipment to include loadings, tooling, and perform run off of product

* Operate conventional machining equipment as needed to perform operation from routing

* Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) and periodic quality checks to ensure quality of product

* Occasionally assist in the assembly of machined components or product

* Maintain production log, recording hour-by-hour production rates for self and others

* Promote 5S within the respective cell or area, cleaning equipment as needed

* Other duties and responsibilities as needed to be successful in the role

The Toolbox (Qualifications)

* High school diploma or GED equivalent is required

* Previous experience in a precision machined manufacturing environment is preferred

* Minimum of one year of experience as a Machine Operator (i.e., familiarity with the set-up and operation of equipment, to include tooling, offsets, feeds, speeds, etc.); Certification or Associate's degree in a related discipline may be substituted for work experience requirement

* Ability to read, interpret and understand blueprints at different levels within manufacture

* Ability to use measuring

* Ability to identify, select, and change tooling equipment (calipers, micrometers, etc.) and gages to check parts

* Ability to perform basic set-up and operate mill and/or lathe

* Ability to perform basic set-up and operate conventional machining equipment

* Ability to load programs into CNC equipment

* Ability to perform basic shop mathematics

* Ability to occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 40 lbs and move in a full-range of motion

* Ability to stand for duration of required shift, to include overtime on a daily or weekly basis

* Ability to have a high level of attention to detail for extended periods of time

* Ability to work daily or weekly overtime, and alternate shifts as needed
