988 Internship Coordinator (Full Time) Location: BH Link East Providence, RI The 988 Crisis Call Center at BH Link is hiring a masters-level supervisor and educator that is looking to make a positive impact on the lives of Rhode Island community members! The 988 Call Center is a crisis answering service that responds to calls, chats, and texts from individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use crises. The role of the 988 Internship Coordinator will be to support interns of the program in their professional development and field objectives. The Internship Coordinator will also develop and support the overall success and development of the 988 internship program itself. Roles and Responsibilities:
- Work on site at the 988 Call Center in East Providence.
- Assist in the development and implementation of the 988 internship program at BH Link, alongside the 988 Call Center Manager.
- Serve as the immediate field supervisor and point of contact for 988 call center interns and their academic liaisons.
- Coordinate with licensed clinical staff/administrators as necessary, for the purpose of fulfilling requirements of program interns and their corresponding learning contracts.
- Collaborate with the 988 quality improvement team and support the growth and progress of interns and counselors.
- Identify and support recruitment opportunities for 988 interns.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the programs 988 training curriculum.
- Provide support in the evaluation of Rhode Islands 988 internship program.
- Support 988 counseling processes alongside program-level leadership.
- Facilitate scenario debriefings with 988 interns and staff.
- Assist in the ongoing development of resource and referral manuals, program procedures, and practice reference documents.
- Review call center documentation and metrics to ensure quality of 988 call center services.
- Answer calls, chats, and texts alongside counselors and supervisors, as needed. This will include:
- Modeling empathy and professionalism to Crisis Counselors while effectively establishing clinical rapport with help seekers.
- Assessing for risk of suicidality (and other risks to safety).
- Identifying best outcomes and engaging in coordination of care as needed.
- Providing resources and information to help seekers.
- Collaborating with members of the BH Link triage center team as needed.

- Well versed in psychiatric and substance use disorders.
- Able to quickly and effectively develop positive rapport with clients and other professionals.
- Excellent clinical and supervisory documentation skills.
- Able to apply de-escalation techniques with clients in crisis.
- Works well in a team setting and communicates effectively with all professionals.
Qualifications:
- Minimum LMHC or LCSW required.
- 5 years' experience in behavioral health and/or crisis care preferred.
- 2 years of leadership/supervisory experience in human services.
- QMHP training required (provided by CCA at no cost after hire).
