Position Description:

The Quality Supervisor assumes Team Leader responsibilities for all shifts to achieve and maintain high performance standards in the Quality Lab. Also is responsible for validating the dimensional integrity of parts, gauges and tooling to Shiloh and customer requirements by running the CMM and the scanner.

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY/ SCOPE:

* Performs work in accordance with written procedures relative to material testing, metrology and general quality assurance practices.

* Trains new associates and temporary personnel on proper procedures and equipment operation.

* Inspects parts and gauges using CMM and other measuring devices.

* Performs weld cut-up, inspection and analysis on production parts and prototypes to ensure that documented quality standards are met. Fills in for absenteeism or emergency relief.

* Creates part programs for weld macroanalysis, establishing weld measuring sequence, required characteristics for each weld, and specifications for acceptance criteria.

* Performs/outsources and maintains gage calibration status on all Shiloh and some supplier provided measurement equipment.

* Coordinates the repair and maintenance of all measurement equipment used in the Quality Lab including obtaining quotes and scheduling activities with 3rd party providers.

* Manages the Annual Layout process, which includes CMM part measurement, data analysis and record retention.

* Perform CMM and/or scanner operation of daily receiving inspection parts and other parts as necessary. Analyze and provide results as input to Quality Engineering activities.

* Performs time studies to determine lab and equipment capacity and utilization.

* Verifies accuracy of HR reports of time and attendance for associates.

* Schedules and directs cut-up, CMM, and daily receiving activities to meet deadlines and improve performance measurements as required.

* Creates work instructions and procedures for the lab.

* Leads CMM and Lab in larger plant with more than two machines.

* Performs all other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager.

SUPERVISOR RESPOSIBILITIES:

Provides leadership to Quality Inspectors and Technicians, Cut/ Etch / Scope Weld Testing, and CMM associates by conducting shift start-up meetings, scheduling shift coverage, documenting and communicating performance standards to associates and providing performance evaluation measurements.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Ability to work different shifts as required. Must be able to lift and maneuver production parts and gages using crane and/or other lift equipment. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently. Occasionally walking, standing, carrying, lifting, and climbing. Must have the ability and mindset to work in a safe manner and take responsibility for your safety.

Education

Experience Level of education Associate degree or equivalent supervisory experience Years of work experience Minimum of (2) years of automotive experience Preferably in a supervisory role.

Training Licenses / Certificates

Certification in weld inspection, gage calibration and PCDmis Training in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD & T) Languages / level English (Business) Other
