Crissair is looking for an temporary CNC Programmer with previous experience using Mastercam to help our Machine Shop for 3-6 months.

Summary

Create CNC programs using Mastercam, ESPRIT or equivalent. Critical factors include optimizing cycle time, tool life, product quality and simplicity of setup. Thorough understanding of feeds and speeds. Must be familiar with the latest machine, tooling and cutting tool technology. Excel at Job Layout by selecting the optimal program and machining strategy that ensures quality and decreases setup times.

Job Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other tasks and duties may be required as directed.

* Layout jobs for maximum efficiency.

* Preview jobs to preorder special tools, tooling and equipment before machining operation begins.

* Monitor print revisions and alter the program as needed. Delete old revisions.

* Label programs for quick location by the setup machinists. Identify programs with the tool being used and necessary information.

* Design work holding fixtures.

* Complete setup sheets and create Manufacturing Aids.

* Keep programs organized. Make sure programs are saved after each use.

* Assist setup machinists with proper feed rate and cutting speed for each operation, according to specific tools and materials.

* Measurement entry function in Net-Inspect to enter actual production results for key characteristics.

* Set up First Run Hardware.

* Operate machines when needed.

* Mentor other machinists.

* Provide inputs to machinists for the design or manufacture of needed special fixtures.

Education/Experience

* Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

* Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.

* Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

* Ability to write in simple correspondence.

Math Skills

* Proficient in the use of shop mathematics.

* Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

* Ability to work with the fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

* Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

* Ability to comprehend and apply principles of calculus and modern algebra.

* Ability to work with concepts such as quadratic and differential equations.

* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

* Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer/ Technical/Office Skills

* Basic windows/internet browser

* Strong understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, manufacturing, and fabrication process
