Overview

Schedules and Registers patients for clinic and hospital visits, through referrals from physicians offices and in-house staff.
Patient and family centered care (PFCC) at YNHH is demonstrated by working with patients and their families based on the 4 principles of PFCC: participation, dignity and respect, information sharing, and collaboration. This includes providing service excellence by creating a great "First Impression" by demonstrating exemplary customer service skills for all customer groups including patients, families/friends, physicians, staff and support department personnel.

Responsibilities

  • 1. Register and Arrive patients in a timely manner providing excellent customer service. Secure Authorization when required.
  • 2. Pre-Registration and Confirmation calls completed timely for all patients.
  • 3. Perform all functions with accuarcy, prompt and effectiveness.
  • 4. Schedule appointments and exams for patients that are Walk In's or Add On's

Qualifications

EDUCATION

High School graduate

EXPERIENCE

One (1) to two (2) years experience in the medical field utilizing computers, insurance carrier knowledge, medical terminology. Registration and Scheduling Experience preferred. Proven Customer Service and documentation skills.

SPECIAL SKILLS

Specific skills related to registering and scheduling preferred. Ability to work independently, problem solving, detail oriented,organizing and prioritizing according to need and urgency. The individual must possess excellent etiquette, valued customer service and a positive attitude.
Scheduling of new patients to include confirmation letters phone calls, scheduling return visits and following through with re-booking of missed appointments and cancellations, coordinating and following through with pre-certification prior to visit.
