Job Summary
The Research Assistant I will contribute to the completion of a NIMH-funded research study to systematically develop and validate assessments that are appropriate for measuring social cognition in individuals who are at clinically high-risk for developing psychosis.
This position will provide technical assistance supporting various research projects and conduct research activities according to research protocol.
This position is in the Department of Psychology in the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences at The University of Texas at Dallas ( UTD - bbs.utdallas.edu). UTD is the fastest-growing University in Texas, is ranked number 3 in the nation among universities less than 50 years old and houses a vibrant research community. The city of Dallas is an international economic hub with a vibrant cultural atmosphere and world-class sports and entertainment in a temperate climate.
This position is in whole or in part grant funded. Continued employment is contingent on the availability of funds.
Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in one of the basic sciences or an equivalent combination of education and experience in customer service or in daily interactions in a public services environment.

  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with a wide range of constituencies in a community
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing
  • Must possess strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • A strong focus on attention to detail and accuracy is required
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Word and Excel is essential
