We have an opening for a Quality and Food Safety Compliance Supervisor based in our City of Industry, California beverage manufacturing facility! In this role, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the regulatory and quality compliance activities for the site. This includes the activities associated with FSSC22000, the Food Safety Modernization Act, QMS, Non-GMO, Organic and Kosher programs at the facility. In this role, you will also assist the Quality and Food Safety Director with all compliance related activities at the facility and function to facilitate all compliance related activities.

SCOPE OF ROLE: The QFS Compliance Supervisor will oversee compliance activities at the Danone COI manufacturing facility and associated warehouses. This position reports directly to the QFS Director and will manage a team of 3-4 individuals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Ensure quality and regulatory compliance across the facility. Coordinate internal and external audit activities with various agencies and bodies such as LACF, CDFA, QAI, Non-GMO, Gluten-Free, Military, Kosher, FSSC 22000, etc. Follow up on CAPAs related to non-conformances.
  • Coordinate all systems related to FSSC certification to ensure the facility maintains good standing.
  • Manages and maintains compliance programs including Non-GMO, Gluten-Free, Organic, Kosher
  • Serves as Food Safety Team leader and SME of Danone FSI, ensuring facility compliance. Drives improvements in established processes to increase food safety and quality compliance.
  • Develops, implements, verifies, and updates Quality System and Document Control System. Ensures all activities related to HACCP/FSHCP, FSMA, and GMP are performed and documented properly.
  • Oversees complaint management program, pest control program, and traceability program.
  • Ensures facility equipment are calibrated, maintained, and functioning properly. Maintains immaculate records required under FSMA/LACF/SQF/FSSC22000 and other 3rd party audits.
  • Leads or supports Root Cause Problem Solving investigations through collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Supports the implementation of IWS Quality Pillar activities.
  • Leads the annual Management Review of the QMS at the facility.
  • Develops, updates, and delivers quality and food safety training.
  • Supports specification management program by reviewing and approving spec changes.
  • Supervises the QFS Compliance team, assign tasks, provide development plans, and evaluate performance. Fills in for QFS Lab Supervisor/QFS Director when absent (i.e. vacation, travel).
  • Stays current with key regulatory and certifying agency guidelines and regulations.
  • Follows established safety practices and performs all tasks in a safe manner while promoting a safe work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

The base compensation range for this position is $90,000- $105,000.00 commensurate with experience. About You

  • A bachelor's degree in food science or a related field is required.
  • You are required to have 3-5 years of combined experience with food or ingredients and manufacturing.
  • Desired qualifications include expertise in FSMA and Food Safety and Quality Management Systems.
  • You have prior experience leading an audit, preferred.
  • Preferred certifications: PCQI Certification, HACCP certification, and SQF Practitioner Certification or FSSC22000 Certification.
  • You have strong leadership skills, organization and analytical skills and are team oriented
  • You have the ability to perform complex data analysis and have statistical analysis knowledge
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills including excellent record keeping / documentation skills
  • You have the ability to work independently
  • You are capable of managing business-critical functions in a calm and systematic fashion.
  • You are proficient with the use of Microsoft Office tools, laboratory instrumentation, and lab equipment. Additionally, familiarity with Quality Solutions Software and LIMS is a plus
  • You are able to travel as business dictate.
  • You have the ability to support a 24/7 manufacturing environment, work schedules could include early morning, late nights or weekends as business needs dictate.
