Summary

The Site Procurement Manager plans, implements, and directs all procurement and expediting activities for a large complex project. S/he provides expertise to establishing purchasing systems and procedures in line with accepted Company standards and procedures. The Site Procurement Manager ensures that the purchasing of consumable goods, construction materials, equipment and services generates the maximum economic advantage possible.S/he develops and implements sourcing strategy, while mitigating risk.

Roles and Responsibilities
The Site Procurement Manager will perform the following duties in a safe, productive, and effective manner:



  • Oversees and manages the entire purchasing process for the job siteincluding:



    • Conducting initial research with the end-user


    • Communicating with potential suppliers


    • Negotiating terms of purchasing agreement(s)


    • Issuing purchase order(s)


    • Monitoring the delivery status and receipt of goods




  • Effectively purchases consumable goods (safety supplies, hand tools, etc.), construction materials (concrete, rebar, PT, etc.), equipment (generators, concrete buckets, etc.), and services (rental equipment) for the job site in order to maximize profits.


  • Manages jobsite specific contract agreements (rental, rebate, and/or purchase) and actively pursues additional agreements as is appropriate


  • Implements agreed-upon terms and conditions for rental contracts, purchase orders, and purchase transactions

  • Serves as a point of contact with the suppliers and subcontractors, monitors and addresses problems that may impact client satisfaction
  • Oversees compliance by subcontractors with terms of subcontracts and generates impact notices as needed

  • Supervises, trains, evaluates, and develops direct reports to ensure maximum return on investment Ensures support managers within area of responsibility also supervise, train, evaluate and develop their direct reports


  • Provides guidance, direction, coaching, and support to direct reports to maximize individual and overall department performance


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, advanced degree preferred. Minimum 15 years procurement or supply chain management experience related to construction industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of procurement vendor inspection techniques, financial management and contract law required
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
