Overview
The Logistics Associate is responsible for providing timely and accurate distribution of medical supplies and medical equipment to patient care areas and throughout the Carle organization. This includes activities involving receiving, distribution of bulk and logical unit of measure deliveries, 2-bin inventory deployment and management, inventory control and attention to days on hand levels, and continuous improvement. The use of various technologies, including, but not limited to bar code scanning, electronic receiving and delivery, chain of custody tools and applications. Demonstrates high levels of commitment and service to supporting patient care operations. Assists in courier role to transport mail, supplies, bank deposits, pharmaceuticals and lab specimens to Carle and non-Carle facilities. Qualifications License/Certifications: Education: Other Knowledge/Skills: Logistics Responsibilities Assume a daily workload that includes: distributing medical supplies and medical equipment to and from nursing units as scheduled; maintaining fire safety on the nursing units by keeping halls free of equipment; performing order picking functions for on-line or manual requisitions. Collaborates with patient care areas to manage utilization of supplies while ensuring patient care needs are consistently met on demand and as scheduled. Performs basic maintenance tasks on medical equipment such as, but not limited to, sanitizing, and rust removal and assessing need to replace and/or order additional equipment to support patient care operations. Pick and pull all regularly scheduled inventory to replenish all assigned inventory locations at 100% accuracy. Check for expired products monthly and remove any products that are expired or will expire within 30 days. Work with Clinical Leadership to deterimine if it expired product needs to be replaced or removed from par. Follow first in first out (FIFO) inventory management approach to reduce expired product on the shelf. Pick up all non-conforming supplies from the green bins on a weekly basis and document on spreadsheet. Release all orders via hand held or using Lawson application WH32.2. Ensure all Carle Eureka Hospital orders are picked, including Pyxis orders, and on the dock prior to daily courier pick up. Pull physician office orders daily and place in mailroom for courier to deliver. Pull and fill pyxis orders within Carle BroMenn Medical Center. Manage all call down requests for supplies. Compensation and Benefits The compensation range for this position is $15per hour - $24.32per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
