Position and Responsibilities Overview
  • Design and develop electrical systems for modular data centers, power modules, and custom modular solutions.
  • Perform load calculations, short circuit calculations, and voltage drop calculations to ensure system reliability and compliance.
  • Design power distribution systems, including selection and specification of electrical components.
  • Interpret and analyze customer specifications to determine optimal equipment selection.
  • Read and interpret controls and low voltage systems schematics.
  • Ensure compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA 70 & 70E, International Building Code (IBC), and other relevant electrical and safety standards.
  • Manage the engineering submittal process, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
  • Utilize AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent software for electrical design and layout.
  • Apply principles of Lean Manufacturing and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) to optimize production and installation processes.
  • Maintain working knowledge of Product Data Management (PDM) systems and design change management processes.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and project management teams to drive design efficiency and innovation.
  • Support supply chain activities for component evaluation and selection.
  • Support production activities to resolve electrical design challenges and improve product quality.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • This position involves working on government-contracted projects and requires U.S. citizenship.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master Degree in Electrical Engineering.
    • Experienced electricians with an engineering degree are highly valued.
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical design for modular data centers, power modules, and custom modular solutions.
  • Strong understanding of power distribution, electrical load management, and fault analysis.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent software for electrical schematics and layouts.
  • Expertise in National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA 70 & 70E, International Building Code (IBC).
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret customer specifications and select appropriate equipment accordingly.
  • Strong knowledge of controls and low voltage systems.
  • Familiarity with engineering submittal processes and documentation.
  • Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) systems and design change management.
  • Excellent problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
