In this role as a Senior Software Developer, you will play an integral role in advancing our Digital Transformation efforts as you translate business requirements and functional specifications into logical program designs providing code modules, stable application systems, and software solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with WJE's Director of Emerging Technology, practice leaders, and project teams to strategize and develop software solutions and integrations for internal and external clients

  • Contribute to all areas of the development lifecycle, including architecture, design, development, testing, and release to the App Store using the newest technology and development trends in iOS, Node.JS, Swift, and other emerging technologies.

  • Translate complex business requirements and functional specifications into executable stories, designs, and code modules; partner with product owners to understand business needs and functional specifications.

  • Work with team members to prioritize tasks from multiple stakeholders, while maintaining a high standard of excellence, integrity, and attention to detail.

  • Independently write high quality, maintainable, and robust code by building adequate test suites and observability framework

  • Improve code quality through participation in peer code reviews and knowledge share sessions within and across teams.

  • Automate and simplify team development, tests, and operations processes for efficiency of delivering the work.

  • Highlight opportunities for architecture or process improvements and drive discussions for adoption.

  • Evaluate modern software, tools, and technologies to provide objective analysis and recommendations to the team.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years' experience in software development and/or computational program integration

  • Bachelor's degree or better in Computer Science or related on the job experience

  • Proficiency in multiple programming and scripting languages, such as Swift, Node.JS, SQL, and/or Python

  • Adept API skills both as a provider and consumer

  • Hands-on experience with managing an iOS CI ecosystem

  • Capable of working with source code control and CI/CD systems

  • Familiarity with cloud hosting platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

  • Knowledge of object-oriented principles, algorithms, and data structures

  • Effective technical, graphical, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface with internal and external clients

This position requires visual acuity and listening ability. Individuals must have the dexterity to be able to operate office and field equipment such as computer, printer, copier, telephone, voicemail system, and other office and field equipment. Requirements may also include:

  • Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment up to 50 lbs

  • Ability to read, diagrams, printed materials, and computer screens

  • Ability to record data clearly and write passages for reports, letters, etc.

  • Ability to travel

  • Ability to safely work in a variety of occupationally hazardous locations

  • Ability to drive and safely operate a motor vehicle

WJE offers a robust, total compensation structure, where base salary is just one component of an employee's annual earnings. Additionally, employees receive variable compensation based on personal and company performance, often resulting in above-market annual earnings. Actual base salary will be based on several factors including consideration for a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role while remaining mindful of our commitment to internal equity.A good faith estimate of the annual starting base salary (gross) is in the following range:

$140,000.00 - $210,000.00
