Finance Analyst, Commercial Planning

SUMMARY

The Finance Analyst of Commercial Planning is a tactical business partner to the Sales and Finance Team(s) to drive business objectives, growth, business strategy and profitability for Major Appliances within the North America Business Area. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Commercial Planning and is responsible for executing the financial responsibilities within the integrated business planning process and for supporting commercial execution and recommending best financial outcomes that drive long term, profitable growth for the North American market.

This role will work closely with the Commercial, Product Line, and Finance Team(s) and supports the development of long-term sales strategies and short-term solutions and tactics at both a channel & product level within the North America market. This individual helps drive achievement of business goals and initiatives via analytical insights, product knowledge and close cross-functional collaboration. This role has the overall responsibility for identifying trends, designing / building powerful reporting, insight-focused business analysis, and for supporting all planning, forecasting and month-end close activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, and long-range financial planning process activities
  • Support business days 1 and 2 of month-end financial close process activities (commercial accounts)
  • Support sales and operating planning ("S&OP") process (commercial) responsibilities
  • Deliver consolidated financial reporting deliverables to management and board
  • Deliver monthly business review materials to channel team(s)
  • Identify root-causes and material variances to explain results and improve performance
  • Build narratives and commentary to explain results and improve performance
  • Design accurate, scalable commercial performance analytics and projections
  • Perform financial analysis and performance metrics reporting for commercial team(s)
  • Drive improvements in financial processes, templates, data, systems, and reporting capabilities to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for profitable growth; maintain and track list of available and executed actions (corrective or otherwise)
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial analyses and reports as needed to support decision-making and profitability improvement

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.S. Degree in Finance or related field
  • Minimum 3+ year experience in FP&A at a publicly traded company, or equivalent
  • Ability to solve problems and complete tasks with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proven track record meeting multiple, changing deadlines and priorities

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Microsoft Excel)
  • Advanced Financial analytics and/or modeling skillset
  • Advanced knowledge of Business Intelligence Tools
  • Advanced knowledge of database/query languages (e.g., SQL, Python)
  • Advanced knowledge of financial systems (SAP preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work effectively with cross functional teams and at all levels of leadership
  • Unequivocal business ethics and integrity
  • Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills
