Central Washington University is recruiting a TRIO SSS Academic Advisor to join our Academic Achievement Programs team in Ellensburg, Washington. The Role: The TRIO SSS Academic Advisor is a grant-funded position responsible for providing academic advising, career counseling and support services to students in the TRIO SSS Program; assisting with graduate school admissions process; co-teaching or assisting with University 102 "Strategies for College Success" classes; facilitating workshops designed to help students develop effective academic habits and practical life skills; documenting student participation and progress; giving presentations to faculty and staff groups and/or visiting students; and performing other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Support Services (SSS). This position is funded by a federal grant through 8/31/2025. Though we expect to be funded for the next 5-year grant cycle, this funding is not guaranteed. We will be notified of our funding status by 7/1/2025. All employees are expected to support CWU's commitment to diversity and to bring and support inclusion into the university environment. Salary: This position has a minimum annual salary of $45,303.00 and maximum annual salary of $63,424.00. The Hiring Department's expected hiring range is $48,000 - $53,000. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the hiring range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Schedule/Appointment: Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (1 hour lunch) / This grant funded position is currently funded through August 31, 2025. Continuation of this position past 08/31/2025 is contingent upon renewed funding being obtained. Working Conditions: Work is performed in an indoor office setting with frequent in-person interactions. It is essential to be able to remain at a desk/computer workstation for prolonged periods of time, perform extensive data entry and other computer-related tasks and create/maintain filing systems for departmental records. Some evening or weekend work and/or occasional travel may be required.
