As a Director, IT Fort Worth Manufacturing MTO & QA Business Technology you will provide leadership, strategy, project delivery and operational excellence for Manufacturing & Technical Operations (MTO) IT across two aseptic manufacturing sites in Fort Worth, TX. In this role a typical day will include:
Build, mentor and lead a high-performing IT team focused on innovation and continuous improvement Foster a collaborative culture focused on service excellence and continuous growth Be an effective leader as a member of the Site Leadership Teams (SLTs) across 2 sites promoting the Alcon culture Build and nurture a culture of organizational maturation and growth, one that values continuous improvement of business processes to enhance execution, effectiveness, and ability to scale to successfully meet expectations Create a climate in which people apply new skills and accrue new responsibilities, thus perpetually reinventing their jobs Manage stakeholders within and across the function, building trust and driving the change agenda leveraging both the formal and the informal elements of the organization Identify and champion digital opportunities for innovation and process improvement Effectively work and collaborate in a complex matrix organization Setting strategic vision enabling digital manufacturing focused on AI/ML, OEE, data/analytics, cybersecurity, cloud and other key Industry 4.0/SmartFactory enablers Act as a leader in collaboration with SLT to build roadmaps supporting the digital strategy for the 2 sites and be accountable for ensuring outcomes are delivered Responsible for all IT technology at manufacturing site ensuring operational management while ensuring global services are utilized Collaborate with local site Engineering team to deliver on continuous improvement Drives the simplification and standardization of local IT application landscape Support information governance activities (e.g. regulatory audits) within region and franchise Take accountability to ensure adherence with Security and Compliance policies and procedures Ensure team prepares and maintains application disaster recovery plans for consistent business continuity plans Prioritize a standardization model for systems and software across 2 sites Prepare site meetings and coordinate site initiatives and events Achieve the most efficient operations providing highest business value through effective management of site IT resources (people, financial resources, software and services) Update evolving technologies and recommend improved equipment and systems in conjunction with global service and enterprise architecture Proactively identify risks/opportunities to increase service levels and mitigate any impact to service delivery at the site Ensure all new IT demand (applications, facilities and infrastructure) is captured and prioritized with Global IT prioritization process Ensure adoption of Global IT applications and processes within the 2 sites
Preferred Qualification:
Manages 24x7 operations and work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule Understanding of manufacturing technologies such as MES, SAP, shopfloor systems, data, databases and underlying infrastructure Ability to work with globally distributed, cross-functional engineering, product, and operations teams Proven ability to deal with uncertainty, adjusting course as the circumstances change, without jeopardizing the end goals and the achievement of the strategic objectives. Effectively cut through complexity and ambiguity, prioritize effectively, set clear goals and operate in an agile fashion.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +18 yrs; Assoc.+14 yrs; M.S.+7 yrs; PhD+6 yrs) The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English 10 Years of Relevant Experience 6 Years of Demonstrated Leadership
