  • Build, test, and maintain robust, scalable, secure, highly available data pipelines and reservoirs that store, clean, transform, and aggregate streaming data.
  • Partner closely with architects and the security team; understand the holistic view of edge computing, security and data strategy.
  • Drive streaming data ingestion from IoT gateway to storage - all in the agriculture IoT realm.
  • Expose data as consumable data sources for analytics via APIs, data virtualization services, and data cloud.
  • Continual research of the latest streaming data services and technologies to provide new capabilities and increase efficiency.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and other tech teams to implement advanced analytics that exploit our rich datasets for statistical analysis, prediction, clustering, and machine learning.
  • Help continually improve automation and simplifying data as a service.

Qualifications

This position requires a Master's degree in Computer and Information Sciences, Computer Engineering, or a related field of study and three (3) years related work experience as a Data Engineer, Software Developer, or a closely related occupation.

Requires three (3) years of experience with: scripting using Python, and PowerShell; multi-cloud environment, AWS, Azure, GCP; building analytical reports in Tableau; data warehousing platforms including Redshift or snowflake; RDBMS systems including oracle, sql server, postgres, and AWS RDS; NoSQL databases including mysql, and AWS DynamoDB; building ETL workflows using AWS Glue, and AWS data pipelines; data processing using Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Sqoop, and AWS EMR; working with serverless frameworks including AWS lambda, and AWS EMR Serverless; Machine learning techniques; airflow to orchestrate the data pipelines; Data modeling; configuring AWS cloud monitoring and alerts for cloud resource availability; building data transformations with DBT; writing data pipelines integrating with AWS services using boto3 SDKs; pandas, and NumPy. Requires two (2) years of experience with: Scala; streaming or batch processing pipeline solutions using AWS Kinesis; CI/CD tools, pipelines, and scripting for automation using gitlab, github, Jenkins, AWS CDK, and terraform; building deployment pipelines for ML models; Kubernetes and Docker containers, or AWS Fargate.

Requires any amount of experience with: Informatica Power Center.

Will accept experience gained before, during or after Master's program.

Must pass a background check and drug test before beginning employment.

Full-time position based in Durham, NC.
