Job Description: The Maintenance Technician I performs preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment. When maintenance has been completed, the employee will assume a Machine Operator role. Primarily, this is an entry-level Maintenance position.

  • Possess the ability to follow directions, read from and interpret written instructions.
  • Make sound judgments when operating production equipment.
  • Organize responsibilities to achieve maximum output to meet production and quality requirements.
  • Understand and follow all applicable quality system procedures and perform all assigned responsibilities outlined in the quality system.
  • Keep work areas neat and organized.
  • Follow established product handling procedures consistently.
  • Work in a team environment.
  • Perform Level I Machine Operator duties.
  • Perform maintenance and minor repairs to equipment.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned by primary supervisor.



Requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Knowledge of maintenance and equipment repairs is a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to read, speak and understand both verbal and written instructions in the English language.
  • Knowledge of Surface Mount, Wave Solder, AOI or coating equipment is preferred but not required.
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Good verbal and written skills to communicate well in a diverse team environment.
  • Ability to fill out daily records and logs.
  • Ability to distinguish colors, fine circuit detail, and tones.

  • Ability to stand in one area for long periods of time, with minimal breaks.
  • Physical ability to move freely and have sufficient reflexes to perform the same tasks repeatedly using hands to complete the task at a constant rate so the assembly line will not be interrupted.
  • Hand-eye coordination necessary to work with small electronic parts.
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs on a regular basis.
