Job Summary (Primary function)
The Health Outcomes Liaison (HOL) is primarily responsible for managing engagement activities related to health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) and real-world evidence (RWE) in alignment with US Medical Affairs (USMA) strategy. The HOL will work collaboratively with the field medical team and cross-functional partners to provide education on Incyte products and disease areas, and will facilitate robust dialogue with the medical community around available RWE/HEOR data and areas for further research. Engagement will be primarily focused on population health decision-makers within health plans, integrated delivery networks, and alliance organizations, but may also include other consortia, cooperative groups, and institutions.

Essential Functions of the Job (Key responsibilities)

  • Develop and execute the field USMA health outcomes strategy
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional partners within Market Access and Corporate and GPO Accounts (CGAT) teams to support overall health outcomes objectives of the business
  • Partner with the Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) function in the identification of research opportunities and data sources to support evidence generation, external expert (EE) engagement, and addressing health disparities in clinical research, as well as align and train on payer resources such as AMCP dossier, economic models and analyses, and value evidence
  • Identify payer data needs and manage appropriate field resources to deliver clinical, HEOR, and real-world evidence (RWE) information to US population health decision-makers
  • Partner closely with the MSL team to identify and engage EEs and healthcare decision-makers
  • Develop and maintain a RWE/HEOR EE network to engage in value-based interactions on the Incyte portfolio
  • Manage the USMA HEOR plan for national and regional payer and RWE/HEOR congresses
  • Maintain expertise through continual education, including literature review and attendance at relevant congresses and workshops
  • Gather and disseminate field insights to ensure organizational awareness of the evolving HEORRWE landscape
  • Discuss and establish the value attributes of the Incyte oncology portfolio with US insurers, payers, Pharmacy Benefit Managers, health networks, and institutions
  • Provide expertise in a cross-functional environment to MSLs and internal stakeholders, including Medical Affairs, Marketing, Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Biostatistics, Drug Safety/ Pharmacovigilance, and Sales Training
  • Participate in the design, conduct, analysis, and reporting of RWE/HEOR studies including observational studies
  • Interface with population health decision-makers and other RWE/HEOR professionals at conferences, advisory boards, and other external meetings
  • Develop, track, execute and report on goals and objectives
  • Be accountable for compliant business practices

Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)

  • Advanced degree (M.D., Ph.D., or PharmD)
  • Formal training in HEOR or relevant field is preferred
  • Pharmaceutical industry work experience of at least 5 years within HEOR, Medical Affairs or a similar field is preferred
  • Deep understanding of US healthcare stakeholder and reimbursement systems and RWE/HEOR data
  • Experience in presenting clinical and HEOR data to US population health decision-makers including medical directors, policy makers, and P&T committees
  • Experience with new product launches in oncology is preferred
  • Experience in Hematology/Oncology (familiarity with key disease states, including myeoproliferative neoplasms, lymphomas, and cholangiocarcinoma is preferred)
  • Ability to partner effectively across functions, including Medical, Commercial, and Clinical teams is essential
  • Strong business acumen, vision and perspective
  • Ability to comprehend and combine complex sets of data
  • Ability to educate internal stakeholders on disease state and/or product/ brand-specific information.
  • Ability to present and discuss complex HEOR/RWE and clinical data
  • Up to 50 - 60% domestic travel required
