Description

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Field Service Technician to join our team based in Cincinnati, OH. In this role, you'll be traveling to customer locations, ensuring the installation, maintenance, and repair of machines, while providing top-notch service and technical support.

What you'll do:

  • Supervise and assist with the installation and startup of machines at customer plants.
  • Travel to customer locations to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machines on-site.
  • Perform electrical fault detection and repairs on customer machinery.
  • Review jobs in progress to identify potential field service issues.
  • Fabricate and weld parts for customer machines as needed.
  • Estimate materials required for troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Provide training to customers and other employees on machine operations.
  • Prepare service reports documenting work performed and issues resolved.
  • Assist the Field Service Supervisor and collaborate with the manufacturing department when necessary.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed.

What you'll get:

  • Compensation: $26-34/hr. based on experience
  • Position Type: Direct Placement
  • Travel: 50% travel, Monday - Friday travel could be regional or national, home in time for the weekends off
    1. Expected to report to facility in Cincinnati when not traveling, based on business needs

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 5 years of practical factory experience, including welding
  • Must have electrical and blueprint reading skills
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with team members and customers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with basic accounting or invoicing processes.
  • Experience working with web-based communication tools and customer portals.
Additional:
  • Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted and over 50 lbs. with assistance.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods, kneel, squat, stoop, and perform other physical tasks as needed.
