SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES

It is the responsibility of the CB Staff Accountant to take ownership of all tasks and challenges that they encounter in the operation of their assigned position. To follow the policies and procedures of Corporate Billing and South State Bank, NA exercising competency, courtesy, and concern for the development of Corporate Billing and the bank. Assist the CB Chief Financial Officer and fellow Accountants with daily and monthly General Ledger activities and the Accounts Payable process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Perform GL maintenance, daily balancing and daily GL reconciliations
  • Ensures general ledger integrity is maintained through timely reconcilements, and proper classification to accounts and responsibility centers
  • Assists in the development of automated accounting systems and process improvements
  • Prepare accurate general ledger entries that are accompanied by supporting documentation for bank, holding company and various subsidiaries
  • Prepare accurate monthly reports and corresponding journal entries for month end
  • Assist with maintaining a SOX control environment
  • Collect CB vendor invoices, properly code with expense information, enter into Workday for approval, processing and track for timely payment.
  • Collect submit vendor information into Workday for new vendor setup.
  • Upload daily check activity into Treasury Navigator and daily work Positive Pay exceptions.

Qualifications, Education, and Certification Requirements

  • Education: Bachelors or Associates degree in Accounting preferred
  • Experience: 3+ years of accounting experience preferred
  • Certifications/Specific Knowledge: Proficient in Microsoft Office with concentration in core Excel functions. Regularly utilizing features like workbook creation, data entry, basic formulas, and data manipulation.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS/CLASSES

Required annual compliance training, New Employee Orientation

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, and reports This position requires a large amount of time in front of a computer. This position may require bending and reaching.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Telecommuting roles no matter if hybrid or 100% full time telecommuting must have a secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions. They must also have a reliable private internet connection that is not supplied by use of cellular data (hot spot). Cable or fiber connections are preferred. Requirements are subject to change, as new systems and technology is delivered.

TRAVEL

Travel may be required to come to meetings as needed.
