Located at the GALLO headquarters in Modesto, California, this facility is the center for production, distribution, and corporate decision-making for the Domestic and International businesses. Members of the Gallo Creative Agency strive to produce award-winning identities and promotional work that build upon the essence of Gallo brands. Working closely with Gallo's partners in marketing and by carefully understanding the needs of Gallo's customers, the Gallo Creative Agency gives each one of the winery's many products a powerful voice in the marketplace.

CREATIVE SERVICES OPPORTUNITIES:

The Gallo Creative Agency is searching for a talented college student or recent graduate who has an inspiring visual point of view and showcases various print, packaging, and digital design work in their portfolio. Your portfolio should highlight your understanding of design principles and the strategy behind your work. The mission of our internship program is to transition recent grads into the professional world of the design industry with a 360 experience unlike any other. You'll collaborate with Designers, Senior Designers, Design Directors and the Creative Director on a broad range of projects to build confidence in your strengths, challenge your skills, and obtain a strong understanding of what it takes to make it in the competitive field of design. The intern's essential duties and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Take direction while supporting the functions of the design team.

  • Develop & execute creative concepts for packaging, point of sale, and supporting elements.

  • Help prepare for and participate in presentations and meetings.

  • Participate in design critiques, brainstorms and photo shoots.

  • Develop communication skills around business presence, professionalism, and collaboration.

  • Develop a more thorough understanding of production needs, and assist in finalizing files for handoff.

  • Enhance portfolio with an in-depth packaging and branding project-develop the concept, name, logo, target consumer, package and ancillary elements.

Possible Areas of Internship Focus:

  • Packaging & Point of Sale Design

  • Photo, Video, & Motion Design

  • 3D Structural (Industrial) Design

  • Shopper Marketing Design

  • Social Media Content Creation

  • Digital Design

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Currently enrolled at a college or university and working towards a Bachelor's degree in the following areas: Photography/Video Media, Design, Industrial Design, Fine Arts/Arts, Graphics and/or Visual Communication;ORhave obtained a Bachelor's degree in the following areas: Photography/Video Media, Design, Industrial Design, Fine Arts/Arts, Graphics and/or Visual Communication.

  • Required to possess the vision necessary to view artwork up close and to identify subtle changes to color.

  • Requires availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays when necessary.

  • Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

WHAT WILL SET YOU APART:

  • Junior or Senior class standing at a college or university and working towards a Bachelor's degree in the following areas: Photography/Video Media, Design, Industrial Design, Fine Arts/Arts, Graphics and/or Visual Communication.

  • Excellent written/oral communication skills.

  • Skilled in the use of appropriate software specific to area of internship focus.

COMPENSATION:

  • Hiring Salary Range Posted:$22.50 - $24.00 / hour

  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
