SUMMARY: The position is primarily responsible for all aspects of day-to-day accounting for a multi-entity Family Office including individuals, trusts and foundations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  1. Manage all financial and accounting responsibilities for multiple multi-asset class investment portfolios including overseeing trade processing and other book accounting.
  2. Primary responsibility for maintaining the books and records for the various entities including direction of day-to day transaction processing.
  3. Lead the monthly close and preparation of financial statements where required.
  4. Research securities in the investment portfolio and other accounting matters, as needed.
  5. Ensure proper accounting treatment and compliance with SEC and prospectus restrictions and limitations.
  6. Interface with the tax department and support their requirements for timely and accurate recordkeeping and reporting.
  7. Operate as the primary liaison with investment department service providers to ensure optimization of services and products. Ensure accurate and timely recordkeeping of all transactions across the various platforms.
  8. Lead the development of new processes to optimize accounting workflows in concert with technology platforms.
  9. Escalate exceptions and issues affecting accounting records and valuations to management. Assist with issue resolution.
  10. Special projects and assignments as business dictates.
  11. Responsible for creation, maintenance and control of all personally identifiable information or any other information protected by Confidentiality and Privacy Standards, in accordance with Mass Regulations on Personal Identity Regulations and HIPAA.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Family Office Investment Staff Accountant



SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • CPA
  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years of accounting experience in a combination of public and operational accounting roles.
  • Experience with private equity, venture capital and hedge fund investment fund accounting desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, strong excel skills a must.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to meet commitments and production timelines.
  • Must be able to learn new tasks and complete tasks independently
  • Must be able to make timely decisions in the context of the workflow
  • Must possess strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and responsiveness
