This opportunity is in the Information Technology Department.

Role Overview:
In the role of Data Engineer II, you will be an integral part of the Information Services department. Working closely with a team of business analysts, project managers, and internal customers, you will develop and support data engineering processes while contributing to the evolution of our Next Generation Data Warehouse. Reporting to the Lead Data Engineer and Data Architect, your work will enhance the organization's data capabilities, foster innovation, and drive data solutions that align with Safety National's goals.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Develop and maintain data engineering processes in Snowflake and SQL Server environments.
  • Collaborate with Data Governance and Data Quality teams to ensure compliance with governance and quality standards.
  • Leverage intermediate ANSI SQL skills and learn Python and Git to support modern data engineering practices.
  • Support legacy processes using SSIS and SQL Server Agent.
  • Document technical and program procedures to maintain data integrity and accuracy.


Ideal Candidate Profile:
We are looking for someone who:



  • Possesses a working knowledge of database architecture and ANSI SQL.
  • Is eager to learn new tools and technologies, including Python and cloud platforms.
  • Has excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Values collaboration, quality, and detail-oriented solutions.


Qualifications:



  • Education:


    • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical/engineering field (preferred).



  • Experience:


    • Minimum of 5 years in Information Services or a related field, or
    • Minimum of 5 approved certifications within the data engineering domain.
    • Experience and understanding of the Finance industry is preferred



  • Preferred Tools/Technologies:


    • Databases: Snowflake, MS SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL
    • Data Integration: Qlik Replicate/Compose, SSIS, Informatica
    • Cloud: Azure, AWS, GCS
    • BI Tools: PowerBI, Tableau, SSRS
    • MDM Tools: Microsoft Master Data Services, Alation

Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location.
