Job Title: Program Director of Strategy and Project Management

Job Summary:



This is an upper level, independent, multifaceted Program Director position, reporting to the Business Services Director of Finance and Administration in the Department of Psychiatry and partnering with Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs and Strategy to provide administrative and operational direction for the department to include clinical affairs and strategy as well as oversight and direction of the Project Management Office, Quality Assurance team, and the Business Intelligence team.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Department strategic plan management.
  • Oversight of metrics and data governance for strategic purposes.
  • Management of departmental project management team.
  • Responsible for continued strategic planning, creation, and implementation of a large and complex system.
  • Engagement in urgent requests for government affairs, advancement, and other key collaborator needs.



Work Location:



Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

The Department of Psychiatry is one of the largest units in the UCD-SOM and is comprised of 5 Divisions. The CU Department of Psychiatry sets the standard for Education and Training of leaders in psychiatry and mental health care, conducts ground-breaking Research that aims to eradicate suffering due to psychiatric and substance use disorders, provides ready access to state of-the-art mental health preventions and interventions across the continuum of care, and collaborates with the community and other key stakeholders to promote well-being among all Coloradans. Qualifications:



Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business administration, or another relevant field from an accredited institution.
  • Six (6) years of experience in a strategic planning position within healthcare focused on psychiatry or behavioral sciences.
  • Five (5) or more years of leadership experience.


Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master's degree in healthcare, business administration, or another relevant field from an accredited institution.
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years in an academic healthcare leadership position.
  • Experience partnering with executive leaders.
  • Experience analyzing and operationalizing business intelligence information into actionable plans.
  • Demonstrated experience with grant writing and attainment.
  • Demonstrated experience in promoting and managing growth within a hospital or clinical academic institution, including programmatic development.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Experience with healthcare advocacy and policy reform.
  • Experience with human needs analysis.
  • Health economy experience.
  • Experience with project management experience.
  • Experience with the research and design of quality improvement processes.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Knowledge of Mental Health Parity laws with proven history of advocating for enforcement.
  • Knowledge of healthcare billing and coding rules and regulations.
  • Contract negotiation skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
  • Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple requests.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of business intelligence systems.

Anticipated Pay Range:



The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $85,000 - $105,000.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
