Responsibilities

Palmdale Regional Medical Center serves the region by providing high quality medical services to residents of the Antelope Valley, Santa Clarita Valley and surrounding communities. The Rehabilitation Institute, the hospital features 184 licensed acute care beds as well as inpatient and outpatient surgery, an Advanced Primary Stroke Center, cardiac services featuring a STEMI Receiving Center (heart attack) and a 35-bed 24-hour emergency department. Essential Job Duties:

The Director of Engineering/Plan Ops plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and controls the operations of the Maintenance, Security, and Grounds departments. Complete all duties and functions of the hospital Safety Officer. Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory agency requirements, including; The Joint Commisssion (TJC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), State and Local Agencies, The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), etc. Manage staff and contractors to adequately ensure and maintain the efficient and safe operation of all hospital buildings. Plans, predicts, maintains and repair building and equipment. Utilize energy management and tracking tools in order to maintain efficient utility operatons. Develop and manage operating and capital budgets. Manage the Clinical Engineering, Safety and Security departments.


Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred. Master's degree from an accredited College or University in related field preferred.
  • Five (5) to Seven (7) years of experience in Hospital Engineering required.
  • Minimum 3 years leadership experience in related field required, acute care experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of NFPA codes and standards, Joint Commission and CMS standards, OSHA, EPA and state and local codes and standards.
  • Experience or working knowledge in all aspects of building trades, including HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry.
  • Previous project management experience.
  • Licensed Engineer required.
  • Current Certified Healthcare Facility Manager Certification required or has the ability to obtain within 18 months of hire.
  • Valid California Driver's License.
  • CPI is required within 30 days of hire.
