This is administrative work involving the enforcement of parking restrictions in public parking lots and other areas of the City. Enforces parking regulations; special assignments including transporation of items during duty hours. Agent wears uniform prescribed by the Chief and furnished by the City.
Hours: Part-time, 7.5 hours per week, Friday & Saturday, 1:30am-5:15am Starting Hourly rate: $24.5799 Initial interviews: TBD for those selected to move forward in the process Tentative start date: TBD

- Patrols assigned areas of the City to enforce parking regulations.
- Issues tickets for applicable violations of City parking regulations.
- Marks tires of vehicles parked in unmetered timed parking zones, records time and returns at specified intervals to ticket vehicles remaining in spaces illegally.
- Performs routine maintenance on City vehicles and equipment.
- Directs traffic as required for special events.

Graduation from high school or equivalent training and experience which provides the following knowledge, ability and skills:
Knowledge of
- City of Waukesha street layout and applicable police department policies and procedures.
- City parking ordinances.
- Basic vehicle maintenance.
- Business English (grammar, punctuation, spelling, format and tone.)
- The use of computers and standard office equipment.
- Operational hazards and means of taking precautionary measures to avoid.
Ability to
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, coworkers, and the general public.
- Perform job duties under varying and sometimes unpleasant weather conditions.
- Diffuse difficult situations, particularly with residents.
Skill in
- Public relations.
- Operating a motor vehicle.
Necessary Special Requirements
- Possession of a valid Wisconsin driver's license;
- Ability to pass a criminal and financial background check; must be bondable.
