POSITION SUMMARY

The Golf Course Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the pro shop, including equipment and rentals for members and guests. The Golf Course Manager will assume responsibility for the overall management and operations of the golf course. This includes meeting or exceeding our established standards for guest satisfaction, sales, and financial performance. This is a full-time seasonal position (April 1 - October 31) compensated at an annual salary rate of $55,000 - $65,000, based on experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Schedules daily shifts of pro shop and outside staff
  • Ensures that staff are properly trained on point-of-sale system and service expectations
  • Responds to member and guest inquiries and complaints
  • Responsible for the growth and financial success of golf operations
  • Maintain effective communication between all staff members regarding course operations
  • Work with Golf Superintendent and Golf Teaching Pro to ensure the required level of standard is met or exceeded.
  • Oversees opening and closing processes for the Pro Shop
  • Responsible for performance management of Pro Shop Attendants
  • Assists with the operations of the practice and driving ranges
  • Assists with all tournaments and promotions for members and guests
  • Assist with retail operations, ensuring the correct product and inventory levels
  • Assists with the GHIN system for handicap maintenance
  • Additional duties as required


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required
  • College degree, strongly preferred


Experience:
  • 2 years previous employment with golf course, strongly preferred
  • 1 year Supervisor experience, required
  • 1 year retail experience, required


QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong customer service skills
  • Friendly and positive demeanor
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

This position may be required to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
