Compensation:

We offer our employees a competitive compensation and benefits package that reflects our organizational culture, mission, and core values. The salary range for this position is $78,644 to $83,172 and is commensurate with experience.

Position Description: The Housing Compliance and Finance Manager is responsible for managing compliance across SOME's housing portfolio, including Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) properties, Fair Housing regulations, Section 8, and Project-Based programs. This role ensures adherence to all regulatory requirements while overseeing financial reporting to investors and relevant regulatory entities.

Qualifications:

Required: Associate's Degree; 3-5 yrs. experience with Housing Tax Credits and 1-2 years of supervisory experience

Preferred: Bachelor's Degree; 3-5 yrs. experience with Housing Tax Credits 3-5 years of supervisory experience

Required License/Certification: Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Provider (LIHTC)

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 - 4:30 pm

Compliance Expectations:



  • Ensure that all applicable programs are in compliance with Federal low-income housing tax credit program requirements as well as other compliance regulations by submitting required reports, and certificates and ensuring SOME management receives regular inhouse compliance reporting
  • Train and coach property managers on the Federal low-income housing tax credit program, Onesite, Kwiktag, The Work Number
  • Communicate with property managers to ensure appropriate data collection as tax credit file is created and updated
  • Oversee and manage the compliance matrix database
  • Manage tax credit audits
  • Ensure compliance with the Fair Housing Act by ensuring rent and lease violations are handled equitably across SOME's housing portfolio
  • Ensure file submissions to 3rd party compliance vendors for LIHTC verifications
  • Support property management team during lease-up or other high volume periods


Accounting Expectations:



  • Manage Property Taxes (Pay, Research or Problem Solve with OTR)
  • Ensure the accuracy of Onesite entries and deposits made by the Fair Housing Compliance Coordinator and Housing Specialist
  • Enter rent payments in the Onesite database and submit deposits to Finance Department as needed
  • Ensure resident ledger data have proper backup and that balances are correct
  • Oversee rent and HAP processing
  • Produce on-demand reports and ensure resident data is reliable and accessible to leadership
  • Assist with completing monthly accounting report


Supervisory Expectations:



  • Ensure appropriate department staffing levels in order to meet objectives; assess, evaluate, and hire new employees as needed
  • Contribute to budget development, and use sound judgment to leverage resources in accomplishing department goals; administer budget and comply with SOME financial reporting requirements
  • Contribute to strategy development and strive to improve department functions and performance; assist in the development of standards and goals as appropriate


Reports to: Vice President, Asset Management

Position Designation: This position is designated as Safety Sensitive. You may be subject to drug testing prior to or during your employment with SOME. In this position, you may be disqualified from employment based on the presence of marijuana in test results, even if you possess a medical card authorizing the use of medical marijuana.

Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds. Requires looking at a computer screen for several hours a day. May be required to sit or stand for long periods
