Job Objective:
The Facility Mechanical Integrity Specialist supports the Asset Facility Operations teams in managing the integrity of Facility Fixed Equipment (Vessels, Tanks, Piping, Well Lines and Offshore Topside Structures) across Hilcorp Alaska's Cook Inlet Oil and Gas production assets. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing inspection strategies for facility fixed equipment that meet regulatory requirements and align with the risk management strategies of the Facility Operations teams. Success in this role requires dynamic communication, understanding of risk management and excellent collaboration skills.

This is a field role based in Kenai/Nikiski, Alaska working a Monday thru Friday schedule.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Single point of contact embedded in Facility Operations teams responsible for aligning individual facility integrity needs with mechanical integrity regulatory and risk management requirements.
  • Lead a team of inspection/NDE contractors to deliver the mechanical integrity program for assigned facilities. This includes executing inspection events, completing required repairs and setting the next inspection schedule.
  • Certify vessels for operation on behalf of the Alaska Department of Labor in accordance with Hilcorp's Owner User Quality Management Program.
  • Work with team to perform Mechanical Integrity Quality Assurance/Control for fabrication, construction, or repair projects at the Facility.
  • Improve and maintain the Facility Mechanical Integrity Inspection Database (PCMS).
  • Support company vision and mission adhering to the company's values - integrity, ownership, urgency, alignment and innovation.

Other Job Responsibilities:

  • Work 9 hour shifts M-F in Alaska onshore and offshore conditions and maintain 24 hour on-call emergency coverage.
  • This role is expected to be responsive in supporting the field as needed during time off, within reason based on support criticality and personal plans.
  • Maintain a service-oriented attitude to complete work scope and develop programs and procedures that support asset team goals and achieve effective compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Minimum of ten years industrial inspection experience or five years' experience in inspection with five years additional in Oil and Gas Operations/Maintenance.
  • Candidates must have two of the certifications listed below. If awarded the role, it is expected that candidates obtain certification in API 570, API 653 and National Board In-Service Commission within the next year.
  • Working knowledge with experience in interpreting and applying industry standard design, repair and inspection codes. e.g. ASME B31.3, 4, & 8; API 510, 570, 653; ASME BPV (I, II, IV, V, VIII, IX); NB-23; UL-142
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to translate complex information into an organized and presentable manner
  • Ability to maintain a positive, professional and solutions-oriented approach with contractors, coworkers, supervisors, other departments and regulators.
  • Physical ability to perform essential job functions, including climbing stairs, columns, entering tight and confined spaces, and offshore travel.

Preferred:

  • Familiar with applicable State and Federal Regulations: OSHA PSM; ADEC; ADOL; PHMSA CFR 192 & 195;
  • Expertise in Mechanical Integrity Databases.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Must have at least two of the following certifications:
    • API Certified 570 Inspector - Active
    • API Certified 653 Inspector - Active
    • National Board In-Service Commission
    • API 510
  • Able to meet ASNT Level II for: UT (limited), MT, PT, RT Film Interpretation within 9 months
  • Preferred: AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) - Active
  • Preferred: NACE CIP I & II - Active
