Schedule: M - F; 7a - 4p (could be flexible) Location: Milpitas, CA As a Chief Engineer, your role is to oversee and lead a team of engineers responsible for planning, maintaining, repairing facilities equipment and services and implementing technical solutions to support the smooth running of the facility. This is an International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE), Stationary Engineers, Local 39, position. Your primary responsibilities may include: Leadership and Team Management: Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to the engineering team. Set clear objectives, define roles and responsibilities, and ensure the team is aligned with organizational goals. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that encourages innovation, knowledge sharing, and professional growth. Project Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as project managers and stakeholders, to understand project requirements and support and deliver solutions efficiently. Plan and manage engineering projects, including resource allocation, scheduling, and budgeting. Monitor the progress of projects, identify and resolve any issues or bottlenecks, and ensure timely delivery. Technical Expertise: Stay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in engineering. Provide technical guidance and assist the team in designing robust and scalable solutions. Conduct code reviews, offer technical feedback, and ensure adherence to safety regulations, codes, standards, and best practices. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements in the engineering department. Implement and enforce engineering best practices, quality standards, and methodologies. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by seeking feedback, measuring results, and implementing appropriate changes. Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their requirements and align engineering initiatives accordingly. Communicate project updates, technical challenges, and solutions to stakeholders clearly and concisely. Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
