Job Description

Position Description:

Ameritas Life Insurance Corp is seeking an Account Manager to retain existing customers by providing exceptional service, building strong relationships with existing customers with 100+ lives, key accounts and relationships in the Ameritas Dental and/or Eye Care insured category. The incumbent may become involved in the account during the presale presentation or initial implementation to ensure a seamless transition to the customer. The incumbent is also directly responsible for servicing existing accounts with a high standard of customer service, looking for cross selling opportunities and gathering industry intelligence.

Position Location:



  • This role could be hybrid or remote based on proximity to an office location. This role will need to be located in the western region.



What you do:

Customer Service



  • Proactively ensure smooth delivery of all aspects of customer and member service. Probing to understand and subsequently satisfy both spoken and unspoken customer needs.
  • Provide proactive service and solutions to existing customers to build customer loyalty based on a planned schedule as set forth during business development planning with the Sales Representative, Agents/Brokers and Customer.
  • Build positive relationships with all clients that leads to customer loyalty.
  • Educate clients, brokers and potential clients on the benefits and services offered by Ameritas.
  • Deliver Group Administration material and explain billing, change forms, etc. as appropriate.
  • Establish visit schedules with current account contacts.
  • Promote use of network providers with Ameritas Group Dental members.
  • Coordinate, plan and develop group implementation meetings with the responsible Sales Representative establishing the Account Manager as the trusted business advisor for client contacts and policyholders.


Relationship Building



  • Present a positive image of Ameritas to the marketplace; specifically with group clients, Brokers, Sales Representatives, Home Office partners, Sales Support and peers to foster a positive reputation, referral base and develop new business.
  • Develop strong working relationships with the client point of contact and policyholders for designated accounts striving to become a trusted business advisor.
  • Understand customer needs and provide value-added consultation consistent with the mission and vision of the Ameritas Group Dental companies.
  • Maintain client visit and service activity information, including involvement with enrollment meetings and health fair attendance, in SalesForce.Com.



Renewal Management



  • Maintain persistency levels within assigned book of business


  • Work with underwriting and sales representatives assigned to create effective and profitable renewal strategies for the assigned book of business.


  • Attend targeted renewals assisting sales representatives when possible.



Sales



  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of all group division products, ratings, risks and contracts to meet customer needs.
  • Post-sale, up-sell and cross-sell of enterprise/ancillary products for maximum utilization of Ameritas products and services.
  • Sell the value-added Ameritas differentiation of the ongoing Field Customer Relations role.
  • Solicit referrals from client contacts, turn them over to the appropriate Sales Representative with an emphasis on those leading to new closed business.
  • Promote e-services technology initiatives and help educate clients on the benefits of using these services to simplify their business objectives.
  • Be aware of industry changes, product knowledge and competitors' products to be able to respond to questions from groups and brokers.


Case Installation



  • Plan and manage the case installation process to ensure optimal results
  • Assist the assigned Sales Representative, Broker and Sales Support with sales/service presentations.
  • New Business Sales Support, including enrollment meetings as requested
  • Provide value-added consulting on new business strategies
  • Actively participate in presale presentations as needed
  • Act as a liaison between assigned Group Clients and the Home office, Sales Representatives or Sales Support Specialists.


What you bring:



  • The incumbent must have a strong aptitude for sales and service as well as the ability to build strong lasting customer and broker relationships.
  • Understanding of group insurance concepts, underwriting philosophies and pricing is required.
  • The incumbent must remain knowledgeable of all products in the company's portfolio.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills and technical skills are needed.
  • The incumbent must meet deadlines and complete projects in a timely manner as well as be flexible in responding to industry changes quickly and effectively. Must be self motivated and able to work independently.
  • Travel as necessary up to 70% of the time in accordance with established itineraries.
  • Must hold a Life & Health License. If not held at time of hire, must obtain in 60 days.
  • If located near a sales office location this position may be required to work in office 2 or 3 days a week.

About this Position's Pay
This is a sales position. The posted range reflects the base pay and variable compensation. The pay range posted reflects a nationwide minimum to maximum covering all potential locations where the position may be filled. The final determination on base pay for any position will be based on multiple factors including role, career level, work location, skill set, and candidate level of experience to ensure pay equity within the organization. This position will be eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefits package (see above for details). This position will be eligible to participate in our variable compensation program with a target defined by the applicable program.
