Position Description What You Will Do Join our world-class team of professional editors at TechSource working with Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL)! We are looking for an exceptional technical editor to join our Technical Editing and Communications group, which provides multidisciplinary, full-service communications support for organizations and programs. In this role, you will be embedded within a specific Laboratory organization to provide technical editing services to subject matter experts, managers, and leaders. You will edit existing analyses, evaluations, procedures, manuals, policy documents, memos, and letters on behalf of upper management. The successful candidate will be extremely detail-oriented, have strong focus, and the initiative and ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities and tight turnaround times.
- Technical Knowledge - Expert in English grammar and punctuation, with extensive technical editing and writing experience.
- Experience - Skilled at evaluating and editing technical documents based on complexity, structure, and deadlines.
- Editing Experience - Experienced in various editing levels, from basic to substantive, with the ability to learn new technical concepts.
- Communication Skills - Strong written and oral communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Work Management and Customer Service - Able to manage multiple, shifting priorities and work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Professionalism - Maintains professional, courteous interactions with colleagues, technical staff, and managers.
- Tools and Systems - Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and their advanced features like styles, templates, and formatting.
- Education/Experience - Requires a bachelor's degree in communications, English, or related field and 2+ years of experience.

- Industry Knowledge
- Experience working with highly technical documents and procedures is a plus.
- LANL-specific experience or experience working in a large, complex institution or company is desirable. An understanding of large facility operations is also a plus.
