HOurs: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday



Rate of PayBenefits:




This is a Full-Time Interim position at grade 16, with an annual salary range of $72,417 to $96,556. The salary offer will be based on education and experience, in alignment with the College's compensation philosophy and the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), if applicable.

Job Summary:



An employee in this classification performs work of considerable difficulty including organization, administration, periodic review, planning, and policy development, fiscal management, purchasing and maintaining laboratory equipment, evaluation, and general effectiveness of the Medical Imaging Programs. This position involves providing input to budget preparation and is responsible for maintaining accreditation of the programs through the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) and maintaining compliance with regulatory agencies (ie. OSHA, IEMA-DNS, HIPAA) Work is distinguished by the preparation of skilled healthcare professionals for the community, teaching courses offered in the department, and supervising adjunct instructors and clinical coordinators. Direction is received by the assigned manager.




Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:




Master's degree with the equivalent of three years full-time experience in the professional discipline and two years experience as an instructor in a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) accredited program

American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification or equivalent and registration in a pertinent discipline (radiography, magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography).

Accreditation (licensure) with the Illinois Emergency Management Agency-Department of Nuclear Safety (IEMA-DNS)

Considerable knowledge of curriculum design, program administration, evaluation, and instruction.

Considerable interpersonal, verbal, presentation and written communication skills with the ability to communicate and interact with all levels of staff, administration and stakeholders in a diverse community.

Considerable skill to work independently with minimal supervision in a team-based environment.

Working skill in the use of databases, spreadsheet applications, and word processing, preferably with the Microsoft Office applications.




Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


Essential Duties:

  • Curriculum development and instruction (including hybrid and enhanced online courses, maintaining D2L websites for all courses within the Medical Imaging department)
  • Program administration (recruiting, advising and admitting students, scheduling, maintaining student files, developing program documents and policies/procedures, fiscal management, handling student issues, communicating with internal and external constituents, evaluating outcomes and program effectiveness.)
  • Develop and maintain affiliations with clinical agencies (scheduling, evaluating, maintaining communication, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and supervising clinical instructors)
  • Maintain program accreditations through the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technologists (JRCERT), responsible for ICCB Reviews
  • Hire, supervise, mentor and evaluate faculty (including adjunct clinical instructors, part-time faculty and clinical coordinators)
  • Prepare budget, purchase equipment and supplies, maintain student lab and associated equipment.
  • Participate in academic and professional development, departmental and college committees.
  • Promote public relations for ECC and the Medical Imaging Programs through community involvement)
  • Available to respond to internal and external customers, either in person, through email or over the phone, during scheduled business hours.
  • Demonstrate independent judgement and discretion in making position related decisions.
  • Maintain required training, licensure and/or certification
  • Maintain confidentiality of privileged information and adhere to applicable privacy laws.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity, understanding and respect of diverse populations within the workplace.
  • Maintain an understanding of the work of colleagues to effectively provide backup and/or support for co-workers during times when the department is short-staffed or experiencing an increased volume of work.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days/evenings/weekends as needed by the department.
