- Lay out and perform all required operations to maintain, repair and install a wide variety of plant equipment, machines, accessories, and auxiliaries in all manufacturing and laboratory areas.
- Maintain related logs, maintaining schematics and equipment records.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrically and mechanically such equipment as remelt controls and melt power supplies, SCR motor controls, recorders, printers, temperature, flow pressure, size, speed, PH controls, logic circuitry, analytical equipment, xray equipment, flame protection equipment, multimeters, radio controlled devices, transducers of all types, leak detectors, millivolt potentiometers, relays, etc.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, vacuum, and pneumatic equipment and instruments.
- Make modifications to circuits and debug.
- Maintain required records of work performed.
- Work involves a wide range of operations requiring skill and knowledge to wire complex circuits and the understanding of operating principles of controls, analyzers, motors, and other equipment specified above, as necessary, to insure efficient maintenance, repair, modification, and installation on a regular or emergency basis.
- Develop and maintain Task Element Sheets (TES)
- Assist in training new employees.
- Maintain required logs and records covering usage, installation, service, repair, and other pertinent or specified data pertaining to individual units.
- Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Follow prescribed safety and ethics regulations.
NON-ESSENTIAL TASKS:
- Work with other maintenance groups assisting with mechanical and electrical problems.
- Assist engineering personnel with associated projects when contractors are not utilized.
- Work with contractors and service technicians when servicing or installing equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or GED
- Associates degree in electronics; If no degree, three to five years of related industrial, industrial electronics maintenance or military experience.
- Must have knowledge of electronics, electricity, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, programmable logic controllers and computerized operator interface software.
- Must be proficient in the integration of the above systems and practices using computer software to develop new controls as well as make modifications to existing control systems.
- Must have the ability to work from complex drawings, schematics, sketches, parts lists and manuals.
- Utilize advance mathematics to solve difficult problems.
- Working knowledge of reading schematics and programmable logic control programs.
- Assumes a major role in the day to day safety of the shop employees.
- Knowledge of Quality systems and deviation and disposition reporting.
- Knowledge of hazards of contamination in Titanium.
- Knowledge of identification procedures.
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures for assigned equipment and processes.
