What You'll Do:



  • Perform lab batching and testing in collaboration with technical team members and in accordance with applicable industry standards.
  • Assist in populating the concrete product database to ensure that each product will meet all fresh and hardened concrete properties required for each project.
  • Catalog existing engineering specifications to ensure concrete product database meets all industry needs.
  • Ensure tasks on the lab testing schedule are completed properly and on time.
  • Become familiar with industry standards and work to develop and implement procedures in the lab to be in compliance with those standards.
  • Perform testing for current and future projects at the plant or in the field in collaboration with technical team members and in accordance with applicable industry standards.
  • Implement lab maintenance and equipment calibration procedures. Ensure these are performed properly and on time per the lab schedule.
  • Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment. This responsibility includes operation of a forklift.
  • Must be punctual, dependable, and have the ability to follow instructions.

Qualifications

    Skills You'll Need:



    • Bachelor's degree with a strong emphasis in math and science, such as Civil Engineering, Concrete Industry Management, Manufacturing Engineering or similar related field.
    • 2 years of technical work experience in the concrete or concrete construction industry.
    • Communication skills (writing/verbal) - Ability to summarize and explain methods and data legibly, accurately, and professionally.
    • Computer skills - Functional skills in MS Office products, especially Word, Excel, and Power Point.
    • Mathematical skills - Ability to accurately record test measurements, understand the mathematical formulas associated with the tests, and calculate test results in accordance with test procedures.


    Other Requirements:



    • Physical Demands - While performing the duties of this position, the Laboratory Technician must be able to regularly lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
    • Working Conditions & Work Hours - The Representative must work in adverse weather conditions, including extreme hot and cold temperatures. Work overtime hours, weekends, non-standard hours, and some holidays and out-of-town travel may be expected.
    • Possession of or willingness to obtain ACI Field Technician certification and ACI Laboratory Technician Level 1 certification.
    • Valid California driver's license and satisfactory driving record is required.
    • Negative drug and alcohol testing.
    • Ability to present a professional image representative of the organization.

    Salary Range. The base salary range for this role is between $30.00 - $35.00 per hour. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate's compensation, we consider a number of factors, including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
