Overview

Position Summary:

The Strategy and Portfolio Manager will play a critical role in developing and leading strategic initiatives for the Hemostasis and Acute Care Diagnostics Business lines. Reporting to the Vice President of Worldwide Marketing & Service, the Strategy and Portfolio Manager will be responsible for driving key priorities, including strategic planning.

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

Strategic Planning:

  • Collaborate with the VP of Worldwide Marketing & Service and the Leadership team to develop the Strategic Plan for Hemostasis & Acute Care Diagnostics.
  • Drive cross functional R&D strategic cycle and new product development process.
  • Understand new product development process and its effect on the business.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve portfolio strategy and prioritization process to drive business improvement and innovation.
  • Lead the development and execution of strategic projects within the Hemostasis and Acute Care Diagnostics areas.

Portfolio Management:

  • Collaborate with leadership from Marketing, R&D, and Medical Affairs to establish product roadmaps, new technology development strategies and investment opportunities through:
  • Evaluate new product opportunities, in collaboration with BD, Marketing, R&D, and Medical.
  • Standardize and scale best practices and learnings.
  • Drive inter-departmental collaboration initiatives.

Networking/Key relationships

  • Build and maintain relationships with R&D, Medical Affairs, pharma companies, mar keting teams, commercial organizations, and finance departments.
Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge & Experience Required for the Position:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or Scientific discipline required.
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) and/or PhD in Life Sciences highly desired.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in strategic marketing or business development activities, alliance management and execution of strategy projects (preferably from an in-vitro diagnostics or pharma perspective) required.
  • Management has the discretion of substituting relevant work experience for a degree and/or making exceptions to the years of experience requirement.

  • Excellent leadership skills: ability to lead and influence at various levels and functions of the organization through strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Big-picture vision and the drive to make that vision a reality; highly creative; self-driven
  • Organizational Savvy: Experience working in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Collaborative partners. People who build and leverage cross-functional relationships to bring together ideas, information, use cases, and industry analyses to develop best practices. Effective communicators. People who can interpret information clearly and accurately to concisely communicate results and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Advanced presentation skills.

Travel Requirements:

  • Up to 20% travel (domestic and international)
