Data Engineer

Position Overview:

NS2 Mission is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Expert-Level Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop data visualizations, models, and algorithms to meet mission requirements.
• Work on software libraries and data-driven solutions to enhance system capabilities.
• Investigate and analyze data to provide meaningful insights for end-users.
• Handle diverse data formats and create efficient, scalable solutions for big data challenges.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact results.

Required Qualifications:

• A Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience in a technical or scientific discipline.
• Proven experience in software engineering, including the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and tools like JIRA and DevOps.
• Expertise in working with SQL (e.g., MySQL, SQLite) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Oracle).
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Proficiency in data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL processing.
• 2-3 years of practical experience with programming languages and tools, including Java, Python, Anaconda, Unix, and shell scripting.
• Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Kibana, and structured data libraries (e.g., XML, JSON, CSV).
• Strong experience in unit testing (e.g., JUnit, Mockito) and debugging existing code.
• Expertise in building highly performant code for large-scale data volumes.
• Proficiency in developing and consuming APIs for reporting, correlations, and enrichments.

Desired Qualifications:

• Relevant certifications such as AWS Cloud Solutions Architect Professional or DBMS/programming certifications.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
