Sr. IT Architect Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Background in cloud related technologies, including architecture fundamentals.
- Strong understanding of EHR systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals and stakeholders.
- Have a bias for action, understanding the important balance of speed and quality deliverables.
- Monitor integration server performance and capacity against anticipated growth requirements.
- Establish & maintain Lab interfaces with major clinical lab service organizations including (LabCorp, Quest, etc.)
- Establish & maintain medical device interfaces to improve clinical efficiency and increase patient safety.
- Establish & maintain Hospital Integrations.
- This includes data transformations, master data mapping, filtering, and alerting .
- Establish & maintain vendor integrations with systems where there is an established HIE.
- Establish & maintain clinical imaging interfaces.
- Lead small projects as needed.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, Business Administration, or a related field
General Experience:
- Experience with EHR integrations (NextGen, Athena, EPIC, Cerner, eCW, etc.)
- FHIR, CCD-A, HL7, JSON, APIs (build and consume), Kafka
- Experience with clinical imaging systems and devices (Fuji, GE, Ambra, Philips, Welch Allyn)
- Experience with Agile, SCRUM, JIRA, Confluence, Kafka
- Computer networking/interfacing protocols and concepts (VPNs, HTTPS, SFTP, TCP, MLLP, etc.)
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Vizio, O365)
- Deep understanding of interoperability and system integration
- Minimum of five (5) years developing integrations across disparate systems
- Minimum of two (2) years working with clinical systems
- Minimum of 2yrs experience with integration related coding languages and protocols (Javascript, Java, python, CURL, HTTPS, JSON).
- Experience in overseeing the architecture and quality of deliverables from the clinical engineering teams.
Specialized Experience:
- At least five (5) years of the required ten (10) years of experience must be in the direct supervision and management of major projects that involve providing professional support services and/or the integration, implementation and transition of large complex system and subsystem architectures.
- Must have led or been chief architect in major IT implementation efforts.
- Must demonstrate a broad understanding of client IT environmental issues and solutions and be a recognized expert within the IT industry. Must demonstrate advanced abilities to team and mentor and possess demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills.
Onsite/Remote
- Hybrid with 40% onsite requirement in Baltimore City, designated MDH facility.
- At least 2 days per week onsite is required.
- Onsite attendance may also be required during system rollout out activities in addition to the monthly requirement. May require travel to other offices as needed.
