What is the opportunity?
As the leader of the Manufacturing site, you will lead a team of individuals from several functional areas including production, engineering, program/project management, and supply chain. In addition, you will provide leadership, direction and orientation to ensure efficient operations and day-to-day production forecasts. You will be reporting to Julien Bouchard, Senior Director Operations & VP Operations - Renu.
We are looking for a person to:
* Oversee all manufacturing operations, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and quality standards.
* Lead a team of manufacturing professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
* Develop and implement strategic plans to improve efficiency, productivity, and cost effectiveness with a hand-on and result-driven approach.
* Effectively analyze problems, identify solutions, and implement recommendations
* Lead lean projects to ensure continuous improvements, improved productivity and exceptional quality
* Manage production staffing levels, as well as production and financial goals
* Will set results driven KPI's, measure performance to goals, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
* Work closely with Quality to ensure products maintain the highest quality standards
* Responsible for price estimates, capital expenditures related to production, project budgets and financial forecasts.
* Manage capacity for new work and available/needed resources to support increased capacity and expansion.
* Continually improve resource demand forecasts, models, and decision-making tools.
* Work closely with VP of Operations for forecasting and revenue projections
About you:
You possess exceptional leadership skills, demonstrated through clear and effective communication. With a proven track record of managing daily operations in highly regulated industries, you are recognized for your ability to engage and motivate teams under your responsibility. Your proactive and resourceful nature, combined with excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, ensures effective manufacturing management and operational success.
To be successful in this position, you will ideally possess:
* Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing or related field.
* Minimum 5 years in a management role in manufacturing
* Proven experience in medical device manufacturing (important asset) or highly regulated industry
* Experience in Medical device industry and understand the regulations associated with the business.
* Excellent communication skills (written, verbal)
* Proven strategic thinker with a track record of demonstrating good judgment, strong business acumen, and executing plans with a sense of urgency and a mind for safety
* Highly motivated, flexible and able to adapt in a growing and changing environment.
* Experience with Lean Manufacturing principals and modern ways to enhance efficiency, productivity, product quality with a strong mindset of profitability and agility management.
* Comprehensive knowledge of Lean techniques, including 5S and Kaizens
* Experience and thorough understanding of accounting principles, financials, budgets and P&L
* Understand and enforce adherence to OSHA and Company Safety guidelines and regulations
* Ability to act both strategically and tactically/operationally.
