Job Summary The Mental Health Nursing Faculty position is responsible for coordination, planning, presenting, and evaluating students in didactic, lab, and clinical settings, in remote and face to face environments, and in classroom, lab, simulation and clinical settings. The work schedule varies but may include teaching on weekends and/or evenings. Performs all other duties as directed by the Nursing Department Chair, Dean of Instruction, or College President tor designee. Essential Functions Oversees and instructs a diverse population of students in classroom, clinical, and/or lab setting; assesses skills mastery, develops written syllabi/course outlines and course materials; evaluates student learning through formative and summative assessment; prepares and grades exams and other measures of assessment; develops and enhances knowledge of subject matter taught and skills required to remain current with new trends and developments in the field and to promote the scholarship of teaching and learning through attendance at conferences, courses, seminars, and/or workshops; maintains office hours to assist and advise students; engages in the academic life of the college by participating in District wide and campus committees. Minimum Qualifications Occupational To teach in the registered nursing program: You will need a minimum of three years of experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care. The majority of the faculty members of a registered nursing program shall hold a graduate degree with a major in nursing. If the graduate degree is not in nursing, the faculty member shall hold a minimum of a baccalaureate degree in nursing. Desired Qualifications
