Wilbur-Ellis seeks an individual with that unique blend of logistics and warehouse experience, leadership abilities, and a strong interest or passion in using technology to gain efficiency.

General Purpose and Scope of Position:

The Regional Operations Manager manages the interaction of support groups within the branch, including the warehouse, production plants (fertilizer, manufacturing), dispatch, and purchasing. The Regional Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring each group operates efficiently to achieve its goals and interacts effectively with the other operation groups within the facility. Reports include plant, warehouse, and purchasing and dispatch managers.

Key Skills and Abilities Include:

  • Possession of a valid commercial Class B driver's license with a good driving record
  • Forklift Driver and Driving Certification (offered on the job)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient with computers utilizing Microsoft Windows, Windows applications
  • Willingness to operate material handling equipment including a forklift, order picker, and pallet jack.

  • Possess the leadership skills to effectively lead the warehouse team.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:

  • Provide supervision and support to drivers, and warehouse personnel
  • Oversee the efficient operation of the yard, warehouse, and all vehicles
  • Provide inventory management in the best overall economic interest of the company.
  • Oversee daily and monthly inventory counts.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, ensuring no product leaves, or enters the warehouse without the necessary paperwork.
  • Dispatch drivers. Ensure that drivers have proper driver's license classification and endorsements when assigning to vehicles.
  • Take action expeditiously on all aged and damaged inventory.
  • Provide additional oversight to the maintenance of equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with drivers' hours of service.
  • Determine storage location of products.
  • Completes Hazardous Material shipping papers.
  • Train drivers, warehouse helpers, and customers on transportation rules and regulations.
  • Perform safety inspections of forklifts and other vehicles. Ensure that drivers perform daily safety inspections on their vehicles.
  • Perform driver applicant qualification test drives.
  • Meet and complete all WECO regulatory safety and training requirements, including physical exams, self, and other branch employees.
  • Approve employee time slips (hours worked, vacation leave, sick leave).
  • Negotiate the best pricing on tires, warehouse supplies, and deliver items.
  • Process all purchase orders, receivers, and the branch to branch transfers
  • Maintain mileage and fuel logs on all vehicles.
  • Handle freight claims, fleet leasing, and year-end audits.
  • Ensures that all parts are in stock, maintains proper inventory.
  • Organize, set up, and maintain safety training and records. Ensure that warehouse has proper safety signs.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $102,800 - $144,020. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, retirement plans, and other benefits.
