AESC is looking to add a Head of US Communications to our global communications team in the US.

AESC is expanding its footprint in the United States with gigafactories in Kentucky, South Carolina, and Tennessee to meet the growing demand for EV and BESS batteries and strengthen its presence in the North American market. AESC's Tennessee gigafactory in Smyrna, which has been operational since 2012, produces batteries for Nissan. The Kentucky gigafactory in Bowling Green will supply Mercedes-Benz with high-performance battery cell modules. The South Carolina gigafactory in Florence will supply technology-leading battery cells for new electric models produced in BMW Group's Spartanburg plant. About the Role

AESC Global Communications Team is seeking a highly skilled communicator to join our dynamic team. This individual will build strategy and execute our U.S. communications and public affairs strategy, engaging in media relations, writing, digital video production, event planning and management, internal communications and policy communications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate communications and public policy.

This role will report to AESC's Global Head of Regional Communications.

What You Will Do
  • Manage Media Relations: Manage media relations with industry, financial and public policy focused reporters nationally. Manage media relations with key news outlets where AESC operates manufacturing operations.
  • Vendor Management: Manage several vendor relationships to support AESC's public affairs strategies.
  • Executive Communications: Work closely with global and plant executives through media training, media appearances, and presentations at industry trade shows and public policy engagement.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders, including plant management, HR, ESG, legal, corporate planning and other AESC teams.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
What You Need
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in corporate, public affairs, public policy, or related communications.
  • A background of managing and executing media relations and public affairs strategies.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Business-minded approach with the ability to understand and contribute to the company's strategic goals.
  • High level of integrity and professional ethics.
  • Mature and composed demeanor, ability to operate in an environment with fast-paced demands and routine changes to circumstances.
What is "Nice to Have"?
  • Industry Experience: Previous experience in the electric vehicle, battery manufacturing, energy, technology or manufacturing sectors.
  • Project Management Skills: Experience with project management tools and methodologies.
  • Cultural Awareness: Experience working in a multicultural and international environment.
  • Start-up Experience: Experience or familiarity with the dynamics of start-up environments, showcasing an ability to thrive in agile and fast-paced settings.
Travel

Domestic travel required.
