Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Processing: Execute day-to-day payroll operations for both salaried and hourly employees across multiple states, ensuring accurate and timely processing of wages, tax withholdings, and deductions.
  • Workday Payroll: Manage payroll within the Workday system, including data uploads, system audits, and integrations, ensuring the system accurately reflects employee payroll details.
  • Multistate Payroll Compliance: Ensure payroll processing is compliant with federal, state, and local regulations, handling complex payroll tax matters and staying current with changing legislation across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Audits and Reconciliation: Conduct regular audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy. Reconcile payroll data, including wages, benefits, deductions, and tax withholdings, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Payroll Tax Filing Support: Collaborate with tax specialists to assist in ensuring compliance with tax regulations in all applicable states.
  • Process Improvements: Identify and recommend process improvements within the payroll function to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Employee Support: Address employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and taxes, providing timely and accurate responses.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • 3+ years of experience running payroll from end to end, with a strong focus on multistate payroll.
    • Expertise in using Workday for payroll processing, including performing audits and handling integrations.
  • Knowledge:
    • Comprehensive understanding of payroll processes, federal/state tax regulations, and compliance standards.
    • Familiarity with ADP Smart Compliance or similar payroll tax compliance tools is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple deadlines.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Must know how to work with pivot tables and V-look Ups
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
