Summary of Job Duties:Faculty are responsible to the departmental Dean and the Vice Chancellor for Academic Services. Courses taught may include but are not limited to Human A&P I and II, Fundamentals of Biology, Microbiology, and Medical Terminology.

SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Teaching classes as assigned. Faculty will be expected to teach approximately 15 credit hours each semester and maintaining office hours up to 15 hours a week to assure availability to students.
*Serve as advisor for students assigned. This includes meeting with students to determine plan course of study and determine class schedules to assure students can graduate in a timely manner, and referring students to the proper personnel for counseling, financial aid, etc.
*Maintain skills and knowledge within his or her area of instruction. Faculty will attend professional development activities on campus and off campus as required and directed.
*Maintain sufficient records to support grades assigned in all classes taught as directed by the supervising Dean; submitting grades in a timely manner as required by the Registrar's Office.
*Create and maintain a course syllabus for each course taught as directed
*Complete all required reports and tasks, including but not limited to the Departmental Assessment Report and Faculty Self-Evaluation, within the prescribed time frame.
*Assist in the review and selection of course relevant textbooks and/or other materials.
*Serve on standing and/or ad hoc committees as assigned by the administrative officers as well as advisor for student organizations within the department (if applicable).
*Demonstrating consistent professionalism with students and commitment to working cooperatively with campus personnel to fulfill the Mission of the College.
*Attending functions at the college as requested by administrative officers (graduation, open house, etc.).
*Other duties as assigned Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Successfully completed 18 graduate hours in related discipline

Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of the minimum qualifications upon approval of the Chancellor.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Degree in related discipline

  • Prior experience teaching in higher education
