Description Position Requirements This position is for a Virtualization Engineer. The Solution is a Flexpod solution supported vSphere and ESXI with Cisco UCS and Cisco X-Series blades with a mix of storage from NetApp and Pure. The solution is a hyperconverged, multitenant private cloud hosting environment for hosting Army enterprise and tactical applications. It's utilizing the full suite of VMware products (ESXi, vSAN, NSX, vCloud Foundations, ARIA Automation, Tanzu) to implement a Software Defined Data Center (SDDC) across multiple global sites. Provide value added common and managed services built on top of the VMware foundation, that hosted Army applications will require. Position Duties: Work with Government engineers to develop and maintain the architecture. Develop, deploy, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for deployment and sustainment of the VMware suite of products. As applications are hosted on the solution, utilize IaC for the provisioning of the customer enclaves. Provide daily administration of the VMware products to include patching and upgrading of all VMware components. Monitor utilization of all virtualization resources and notify the lead when additional resources will be required. Harden the VMware products per commercial best practices and the required government cybersecurity controls. Troubleshooting and root cause analysis of any hosting platform issues. Develop and maintain system, infrastructure, and process documentation (system diagrams, network topology, software configurations, device configurations, standard operating procedures). Provide on-call support for triage and resolution of after-hours production incidents. Make recommendations for improvements to security, scalability, manageability, and performance across a wide variety of network, storage, and compute services and technologies. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $80.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
