As a Cash Application Specialist at Ryerson, you will be responsible for accurately applying and posting customer payments and ensuring all unapplied cash and deductions are resolved in a timely manner to maintain the credibility of the customer's credit standing.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Timely posting of all payments not automatically posted by the lockbox service
  • Timely reporting of all unauthorized deductions to the appropriate Credit Analyst
  • Interacting on a daily basis with Credit Analyst to resolve payment deductions
  • Interacting with regional branches on payment adjustments
  • Creating and running non-conformance reports as needed
  • All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • SAP experience highly preferred
  • Working knowledge of MS-Office Suite applications (MS-Excel, MS-Word and MS-Outlook)
  • Ability to work repetitive tasks with a high level of output
  • Able to perform job duties under stressful conditions
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated competencies of being a team player, maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers, other departments and all levels of management
  • Excellent at prioritization and multi-tasking. Able to work with multiple deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills
