Nationwide IT Services, NIS, is seeking aNetwork Services Managersupporting a potential opportunity with the Department of Defense.

Position Overview:
As the Network Services Manager, you will be responsible for IT services and support such as Campus Area Network (CAN) and Local Area Network (LAN) operations. The Network Services Manager must ensure that all devices are securely configured and tested before installation on the LAN. The Network Services Manager will oversee the following after installations: the devices are regularly updated with vendor patches, security patches, operating system upgrades, firmware upgrades, and new security configurations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support Service Design and Service Transition activities and processes, as necessary.
  • Test software updates, security patches, vendor patches, etc., before installation in the production environment.
  • Electronically, push" software updates, security patches, vendor patches, etc., to devices.
  • Provide local touch labor services to include installation, troubleshooting, software updates, security updates, vendor patches, etc., when electronic application means do not exist.
  • Maintain network availability by Service Level Agreements (SLA). Perform troubleshooting, cause identification, and issue resolution, as necessary. Coordinate with external service providers to resolve network issues outside of the LAN boundaries.
  • Provide Secret Internet Protocol Router (SIPR) VTC support
  • Register and de-register SIPR VTC rooms, as required; create SIPR VTC bridges.
  • Coordinate with VTC bridge owners within the client site or external to the client for multi-point VTC connections. Maintained the same software release levels and patches as the primary systems.
  • Facilitate the Continuity of Operations (COOP) exercises with the following elements:
  • Maintain operational support by using tools and systems available from the alternate site.
  • Provide support activities using the alternate facilities for the duration of the outage or exercise. * Monitor the VTC and troubleshoot issues during support to high-profile events and/or priority personnel, as identified by the client.
  • Coordinate with the bridge provider to resolve external VTC issues.
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance, testing, patching, and upgrades to VTC equipment.

Requirements Include:
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II or IAM Level III.
  • ITIL Foundation Level Certification.
  • A minimum of five years of experience managing network services to include LAN and VTC experience.
  • A bachelor's degree or higher in one of the following areas: Computer Science, Information Systems, IT, Cybersecurity, Statistics, Business Administration, Systems Engineering, Computation Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Analytics, Information Security and Assurance, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or Telecommunications.
Competency
  • A minimum of five years of experience operating and maintaining network services for COOP sites.
  • A minimum of five years of experience working on LAN network services.
  • A minimum of five years of experience working on and repairing VTC issues.
  • A relevant educational degree.
  • Hands-on work experience on at least one Service Management tool like BMC Remedy, BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, HPSM, or any other equivalent industry standard ITSM tool.
  • Strong analytical, communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
  • Good client-interfacing skills, Customer and service-focused approach.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Visio.
Other Required Education and Experience
  • Experience applying IT systems security methods and techniques to systems designs.
  • Experience in alternative analyses and implementing complex technical solutions.
Tools:
  • BMC Remedy / Service Now / ITSM or any other industry standard ticketing tool.
