Paint (Novice)

The Paint position is responsible for prepping and painting transformer units. Compliance with all safety requirements, product quality standards and company policies are essential functions of this role.

• Mixing paint and making sure the viscosity is correct and consistent with specs.
• As needed replace paint in pots/drums and regular maintenance
• Making sure paint guns are all in working order and spray pattern is good for applying.
• Review checklist and follow work order instructions to ensure compliance with specifications
• Assess units prior to paint and check for issues (defects, leaks, etc.), escalate defect issues to lead or supervisor if discovered
• If needed clean unit off accordingly by air or tack cloth
• Apply primer and paint as indicated in the work order instructions and comply with quality expectations
• If unit is disassembled spray unit parts as required
• After primer and paint is complete look over unit to ensure quality expectations are met
• Once work order is complete move unit to final assembly
• Follow all safety protocols related to painting units, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) which include respirator, glove, safety glasses, etc.
• Maintain safe, clean, and orderly workstation and area.
• Other assigned duties as needed.

• HS Diploma/GED preferred.
• Safety protocols require the completion and passing of a respiratory fit test
• OSHA10 certification preferred.
• 1 year experience material handling equipment (forklift, crane, etc.), preferred
• 1 year industrial paint experience, preferred
• A proven track record in safety excellence is required.
• Adheres to all safety and environmental compliance regulations set by the organization. Notify management immediately of any safety concerns, hazardous conditions, or injuries.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders.
• Meet department and production goals set by supervisor.
• Ensure product quality meets company and client expectations.
• Possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, cooperative attitude, strong attention to detail and can work in a team environment.
• Adheres to the company's employee handbook policies and embodies the organization's core values.
• Ability to learn other department job functions and fill in as needed.
• Complete company compliance and safety training when required.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and work under pressure in a fast-paced work environment.
• Physical requirements for this role include, but are not limited to the following:

• • Lift 50lbs floor to waist and waist to shoulder multiple times
  • Standing and walking for long durations
  • Bending, squatting, and kneeling multiple times for long durations
  • The ability to climb up and down a ladder multiple times
  • Balance and stand on a ladder with three points of contact for extended periods of time
  • Comfortable working in the heat and cold due to manufacturing facilities not being climate controlled
