Primary Description of Work
The Associate Dean of Design of Design and Production serves as a managerial and administrative bridge between the Dean, the faculty, and the students, ensuring that the day-to-day operations of the organization run smoothly and in service to the mission, vision and values of the organization.

Description of Responsibilities and Duties

  • Accountable for managing the staff and operations of the Dean's Office.
  • Accountable for managing the day-to-day operations of Design and Production, including the Dean's Office Staff, materials and equipment, faculty, and facilities.
  • Responsible for credentialing for incoming students, staff, and faculty.
  • Responsible for course and classroom scheduling
  • Responsible for Student and Faculty orientation and onboarding.
  • Provides the necessary support to faculty and students' adherence to organizational and administrative policies.
  • Provides unbiased support for issues between students, faculty, and the administration.
  • Manages SACS Accreditation and Assessment process on behalf of Design and Production.
  • Temporarily assumes the responsibility of the Dean in their absence.

Minimum Qualifications
Earned graduate degree (Master's or Doctorate) in related field. At least five to seven years of related experience in academic support and administration.
Preferred Qualifications
Five years prior experience in a management capacity.
Proven track record managing the people and operations of an organization of similar or greater size.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Competency in Microsoft Suite, Banner, and Acrobat Pro.
Prior office and administrative management
Familiarity with the academic setting and production environment.
Ability to teach at a graduate level.
Mild temperament, open mind, and unbiased approach to people management and problem-solving.
Strong attention to detail, especially regarding administrative paperwork and policy.
